You have to build your roster fifty-three deep.
You have to make plays on both sides of the ball.
Stick to your game plan and throw it out
the window. You have to make adjustments.
You just have to go out and execute
and do the things you get paid to do.
You have to establish the running game and stop
the big play. You have to open up the playbook
to keep the defense on their heels. You have to
air it out to stretch the field. You have
to have a couple of guys like that on your team:
guys who bring their lunch pail to work
every day ready to run into a brick wall.
You have to finish your blocks and fight for
the extra yards. You have to be quick off
the ball. You have to get penetration.
It's a game of inches. It helps when you have
an eternity to throw. You can't cough it
up like that. You want to play the game
on their side of the field. You just can't turn it over.
