Proverbs of Heck (2)

In a rainy season, keep an umbrella in
your car. When it's not that far away, drive to
the next town where the gas is cheaper. Search
for hotspots in the cafes of the dead
or the long ago compromised. The active adult,
alone in his community, has no time
for recounting the crimes of the state. Go ahead.
Observe the road side, never mind the road.
The Basset Hound's sadness is the omniscience of God.
Queen Anne's Lace does fine untied in the rain,
the Peonies not so much. Sloth is the suit
and tie of bliss. The human soul, a slave
master's whip. Wisdom is waiting for us
downstairs in the ranch without a basement.
