Proverbs of Heck (27)

You can't cling to water. You can't cling to
fire. You can't cling to air. You can, of course,
cling to earth, but after the storm that has
you clinging in the first place passes, you
must make sure to wash yourself off. Some would
have you believe that poetry is more
important than soap. Look at Poetry Daily
and you will see way too many poems
still referencing “the gods” (if you don't believe
me, go to their archives now and sort by Poet).
Content yourself with rice; distract yourself
with tea. Despite all of the hubbub from
the other side, the President was just
another crab cake revolutionary.
