Elio Schneeman: a poem and a page

August
           for Elio Schneeman

Heat lightning grips
the treetops and hills
of the tarred horizon

A long drive's dry eyes
wired to the night
behind the ears

Any song blares

Fingers grip the wheel
as words mind

Accepting the thrusts
of the highway's
repetitious white knives

And a Wikipedia page for Elio Schneeman on the tenth anniversary of his passing.

A brief article on Wikipedia

There's a brief article in The Chronical of Higher Education on Wikipedia and the new software that researchers at UC–Santa Cruz have developed to help alert readers to an entry's trustworthiness. Seems to me that the more obscure the subject, the more likely the Wiki entry will be accurate, which means the contemporary poet entries don't tend to contain misinformation. Slowly been getting the hang of the Wikipedia thing myself, have started the following pages: John Taggart, Dale Smith, Elaine Equi, Roger Giroux, and Sotère Torregian, though they could all use some sprucing up. (Huh, spruce is a funny little word, no?)
