The Clash (1977)
The Clash wasted no time in establishing themselves as the thinking person's punk band. Compared to other early UK punk acts like the Sex Pistols, The Damned, and the Buzzcocks, The Clash's musical influences are more varied, their social commentary more focused and reflective, and their lyrics more polished. But chances are you knew all that.
